Section 25 - Looking From a Hilltop (agressiv.mix)

Custom Edit of Section 25's "Looking From a Hilltop". Produced by Bernard Sumner of New Order. For those who grew up in Chicago, I'm sure you remember the bass line of this song booming at Medusa's.

Why ST:TNG remastered Blu-Rays are not widescreen

CBS Digital explains why the re-mastered TNG blu-ray discs are not 16x9 widescreen. Not sure why the audio seems skewed, blame youtube.

Book of Love - Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes) (agressiv.mix)
Просмотров 5 тыс.13 лет назад
This is a custom edit of Modigliani I made. It is comprised of the 12" version, the 7" version, and the Requiem Mass. I never liked the original 12" version, it was a beautiful song and the remix just didn't work. Hope you enjoy this.
Hubert KaH - Military Drums (Extended Mix)
Просмотров 20 тыс.13 лет назад
This is the ORIGINAL Military Drums 12" mix recorded from vinyl. It was supposed to be included on "Sound Of My Heart", and is not the horrible version on "Best of Dance Hits".
In a year or two, it can probably be scaled to 4K (not just HD) at full 16:9 via advanced AI, which will probably be able to literally add missing information that was never even there in the first place. And it'll be able to do it so accurately and seamlessly, that it will warrant an absolute RE WATCH OF ALL 7 SEASONS of TNG on your sweet 65" 4K Sony/Samsung/whatever.
Tuval throat prayers.

Im going through TNG on paramount plus now and wondered why it wasn't 16:9. Appreciate this explanation and it makes perfect sense.
Why not give it a try now with AI. It can “fill in the blanks” to make a more complete picture.
The digital remasters of TOS are perfectly fine at 4x3. Preservattion, restoration & effective upscaling should be the focus, changes to the aspect ratios are not neccessary (or wanted in my estimation).
Thank you for your service!
AI could easily do it in any screen size by adding generated sides as what is left and right of the screen is known. I prefer it stretched 16:9 DVD than 4:3 Blu-ray.
well they lost money on the blue ray remasters of star trek tng so i dont expect any more remasters for DS9 or STV
Well that didn't sound quite right because the old vhs and dvds are can be put 4:3 or scale to full screen, it just isn't as good on Blue Ray
Been an old trance lover I consider the group A&B one of the best electro music has ever existed
This seems like a million years ago when things were so simple.
Шедевр всем шедевром
While I enjoy preserving the original director's intention, it would be nice to have expanded sets that go beyond. This would include adding in deleted scenes, and for certain episodes to dramatically add more CGI such as space battles, strange objects, etc. I'm talking about where they have a 2 second CGI clip to expand that space battle into like a 5 minute footage. I get it that this may require new contracts with the actors and Stewart's salary is hardly trivial but this kind of thing would actually get people to buy it rather than just the normal wash and rinse of taking what they have and printing into a different art set of discs.
Absolutely gorgeous, when the world is a bad place to be, and you can escape for a moment or two.
Very well said, agreed! :-)
Ai could solve this
This is an astounding masterpiece of trance.
This caresses my soul!❤
Still one the best trance mix of all time. You really nailed buddy. I feel sorry for those who have'nt find this track.

Just mind blowing, perfection.
It's like what they used to do to movies to show on regular televisions back in the day just to fill the screen and it looks TERRIBLE. If the show wasn't meant to be shown in that aspect ratio, then leave it alone and just increase the resolution.
Pain soaker!!
Please give me some songs like this one.
This song is pain soaker. A big thanks!
SUPER !!!
Why not use AI to make it wide-screen? 💡🤔
Must be widescreen plz
Babylon 5's DVD release was 16:9, but because everything that mattered was within the original 4:3 frame, the extra space to the sides felt strangely empty. It also negatively impacted the CG/composit shots, because they only had the standard definition 4:3 footage, and the zooming and cropping made those parts look even worse than the original TV release. So yeah, I'm actually glad TNG remained 4:3.
In case of TNG all effect shots of season 1 were filmed by ILM with VistaVision cameras in a negative ratio of 1.5:1. Only by beginning of season 2 they switched to standard 35mm cams. VOY and DS9 were shot with 16:9 in mind. But I also still prefer the 4:3 format for TNG.
@@platzhalter2581 That's interesting, thanks. Since we're talking about season 1 effects shots, the original stock flyby shots of the Enterprise D are easily some of the best shots in the series, and are especially stunning in the remaster.

If equipment and crew members is a problem with having widescreen 16:9 then why not digitally remove them? Yes it may take work but I think it’ll be worth it.
Makes me wonder if at some point we can use CGI to fill in the sides of the screen to make all movies and tv series be in widescreen 16:9.
Yeah, AI should be able to achieve this. I just don’t think the interest is there for them to do this
@@mediaproductions3557 sadly :(
I'm happy with the 4:3 aspect ratio, especially as this was how TNG was first presented on TV sets back in the day (along with TOS, TAS, DS9 and VOY). I'm not really a fan of 4:3 footage cropped to 16:9 for modern TV sets as we lose details of the top and bottom of the image. Plus there's often 4:3 shots that look out of place in cropped 16:9 format and requires awkward pan and scanning up or down the frame.
Guys, this is german stuff! Why do all comments here are from the US ? ;)
I'd never buy the blu-rays had they cropped it to fit into a wide screen TV, unless we'd get more information on the screen. But then I'd love to have both versions.
Heaven and earth. As above so below. It gives me Power, Energy and love that everything is possible. Thank you
if black bars bother you so much when watching older content just get an iPad, it's 4:3 and you will never get black bars watching that type of content. Then you can watch all 16:9 on you normal TV and if you're completely unhinged you can get an ultra wide and watch movies on your PC and for even WIDER movies you can get a super ultra wide and stack it on top of your ultra wide and you will be good. Then you should just get into the bath with a toaster because your life has become too complicated and it's just not worth living anymore.
Black bars don't bother me. It's actually the complete opposite for me, makes me feel reassured that I'm watching footage in their original 4:3 aspect ratio instead of cropped 16:9 format.
This song can be heard in the 1980s television series "Miami Vice", (episode: 'God's work').
Doesn't bother me at all that's not wide-screen but looks great on blu ray so they actually did it right. Couldn't wait to see episode Yesterday's Enterprise in blu ray and looked wonderful! The quality is so good and relive the entire series in blu ray how its meant to seen! What about a 4k version?
Agreed, though as for the 4K version, that's probably a story for another time.
@@AndrewChapman Star trek the next generation movie collection is now on 4k UHD disc all those four movies of Picard and his crew from tv show. Generations film was pretty good. First Contact could have been a lot better. Insurrection was good and nemesis is hit and miss. Movies in 4k so they can do a 4k version of tv series. Blu ray can be upscale to 4k on playstation 5 and looks so nice!
